EOY Physics results

Since I won't be around in class to return your exam scripts, I want to use this platform to express my congratulatory note to the class of 3E1 for showing marked improvement in the Physics results. As I compared the EOY (End-of-year) with your Mid-Year exam results, I discovered that almost all of you garnered at least a 1-grade improvement! This is remarkable! Of course, there is still room for improvement for many of you, but I'm confident that we will be able to achieve many distinctions next year.

Next, we have a steady group of distinction holders in the class and the size of the B-graders is enlarging. This is good and we anticipated it. Keep up the good work 3E1! For those of you who have shown improvement, keep doing the things you are doing right. For the rest who have yet achieved your desired goal in Physics, keep working with me. 2 things I'm most afraid of: unbelief and you giving up altogether.

SS Test

Please stay back in school tomorrow for a SS retest using the CPA system. Questions will be roughly the same, testing on Chapter 4, Northern Ireland part. Miss Leow said the system crashed, thus results have been erased. Please do me a favour by passing this message around the class. Thank You.

Stumbling Block

The biggest stumbling block between the student and the reality of achieving a distinction grade for any subject is unbelief. Unbelief in oneself, the subject and the teacher facilitating the learning.

Heylo!

Bumped into Mr Ng ytd in the canteen.
He asked us to tell the class to finish the worksheet he gave on thursday (inequalities, quadratic and bla blah) because he's going to go through it on Monday in class.

Happy Teachers' Day!

Hello, Happy Teachers' Day!
To all the teachers of class Threeeone, hohoho!

I ain't trying to be unique by blogging my wishes to the teachers, while everyone else tags.
Sorry I don't like tagging, seriously.
By the way, I'm not good with words and I never, never like to be faker or so.
However, what I'm going to continue is truly from the bottom of my heart :D

I'd like to say a big thank-you to all the teachers who suffered, laughed, worried, cried, and danced with our class. I daresay our class has stired up trouble occasionally, and that doesn't appear to be our "expected behaviour" from our should-be-proud-and-good-in-everything-but-we-are-not-class (With quotes from mrs T.Ho, lol) Still, you teachers continue to strive hard with us and guide us along the way. That alone, makes you guys noble. IF I am a teacher facing such a class, I'd have scolded them like mad. Thankfully, I am still a student :D

Back to the topic ...
Don't be upset. Each individual becomes sensible someday, at some point of time. I know it's stressful, having to deal with a group of 39, growing up at different phase. But I do know, someday we will all be happy.

I don't know what to say, but ...
thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you
THANK YOU!

To end this off, HAPPY TEACHERS' DAY ONCE AGAIN to:

Mr A.Goh, Ms R.Yue, Ms. See HY, Ms A. Lim, Mdm Rahayu, Mr J. Koh, Ms Yamada, Mrs T. Ho, Ms C H. Leow, Ms Chen ZC, Mr T. Tan, Mrs V. Haridass, Mr Rohan, Mdm Ong, Mdm Ho, Mrs Chan, Mr J. Lim, Mdm Wan !

(:

With love.

Forgiven!

On this great day, all misdeeds like failure to submit homework, sleeping in class, failing tests, making inappropriate remarks, and many other unpleasant acts committed by the class as a whole or by individuals are all forgiven and records wiped clean. From this day forth, do what's right (hand up assignments and file in your SPA!) and be good. :) Be nice to everyone and learn to get along.

Congratulations!

To all councillors of 3E1 (and other classes), congratulations on the job well done yesterday! Indeed, we did have a celebration and it was made possible by your dedication and zeal in putting up a great show. As form teachers, Ms Yue and myself were extremely pleased to see many of our class people taking key roles in making the event a memorable one. And for the rest of the e1sters, we appreciate every kind gestures you showed towards your teachers. Whether the gestures came in big or small ways, I'm sure your teachers were touched by what you did. Keep it up and stay appreciative of people around you.

Tough Love

From Ms Yue and myself:

I want to reiterate that 3E1 has been and still is an awesome class of fun-loving, sensible and very appreciative people. Sometimes, things have to be said and important messages have to be sent across to everyone at the right time. Through gentle reminders (naggings) and strong admonishments (scoldings), words that were first thought-through, discussed and carefully meditated were transmitted to the class. All were accomplished with the intention for good and the betterment of every individual. No bitter hatre or fiery dislike for anyone is ever involved in all of these.

Jokes (Continued)

A man paid his old friend of 30 years a visit at his house. After being invited in, he observed the way his friend spoke to his wife. He was pleasantly surprised to hear his friend call her by "honey" and "dear" even though they were over 60years old! Later, after they had gone out for a cup of coffee, after the man had shared his surprise with his friend, his friend replied, "No. Actually, I had forgotten her name 3years ago already."

Jokes!

The Nun Decorators

The head nun tells the two new nuns that they have to paint their room
without getting any paint on their clothes.

The one nun says to the other, "Hey, let's take all our clothes off,
fold them up, and lock the door."

So they do this, and begin painting their room.

Soon they hear a knock at the door. They ask, "Who is it?"

"Blind man!"

The nuns look at each other, then one nun says, "He's blind, he can't
see. What could it hurt." They let him in.

The man walks in, does a double take, and says, "Where do you want me to
hang the blinds?"

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok, shall end with just one joke.

To be continued...

Olympics Opening

Did you fellas see the Olympics Opening last night? Whether the grand event was a spectacular display of creativeness and national pride or a deliberate attempt on the part of China to congratulate herself, I am proud to be a Chinese...an Asian. Last night was, by far, the best show ever put up for the games. Ok, I will learn to use the Chinese language more seriously now. :)

After so much stress due to events in school, everyone deserves a break! :D
Today's National Day, and Singapore is turning 43 :)
To all: A HAPPY NATIONAL DAY!! :D
Let's watch fireworks together, let's watch the parade together; I believe one day we'll be able to do it. 3E1 gogogo!

Chapter on Thermal Transfer

The entire chapter of Thermal Transfer is now posted online at MOODLE--> Physics --> Independent Learning --> Thermal Transfer. You job is to:
  1. Download the MS Word student version note
  2. Download the 3 Powerpoints on Conduction, Convection and Radiation and view them
  3. Answer the 3 quizzes

I will be collecting the FYS homework on Melting and Boiling this Wednesday/Thursday. In case you have forgotten the question numbers, here it is:

FYS Topic 11B (Melting & Boiling)
MCA Question 1-4, 7, 10
Section A Question 1
Section B Question 1

There will be no assignment for Heat Capacity/Latent Heat since I have already done them with you. An additional homework from the FYS for Thermal Transfer will be given to you in class (next lesson). After which, I will be proceeding straight to Wave Properties. The chapter on Thermometric Properties will also be online lessons.

Self-Learning for Conduction of Heat is ready

Students of 3E1, hear ye. Self-Learning module for Conduction of Heat is ready at

I have tried to make the Powerpoint slides as self-explanatory as I possibly can. Ok, I will learn to do a good Podcast soon. :) The content should be easy for all of you. Next, open up the quiz and do them. 3 of the questions are short answer questions and so, may the force be with you.
All of you might wanna complete the Conduction part by this weekend. I will work on the Convection and Radiation part by early next week so no time is lost!
We are in dire need of time. I'm getting rather desperate to get all of you to learn in time for the end of the year if you can sense my anxiety. We've got a world to conquer, remember?

Refrain from spamming

Hello. I'm sure those people who'd been visiting the class blog had seen the tagboard as well. I believe, if anyone wants to spam the tagboard, and without revealing your own identity.. Please refrain from using other classmates name. Anyway, the disclaimer of our class blog is: "Please do refrain from spamming the tagboard. Thank you for your co-operation."

I hope people who's been spamming or using other classmates' identities will show some consideration, and also stop this, unless permission granted from the owner of the name(Please also say that you will be using that name if you granted to use it).

Thanks.

Hall of Fame

Hi Mui Zhen. Despite the fact that you and Chloe were feeling rather inadequate during the rehearsal today, you prevailed, stayed on and smiled your way through gracefully. For that, you and all the others (including Jamie and Kelvin Quah) who were also there in the library today have now been promoted to the status of "Hero 2nd Class" in my personal hall of fame. Kudos to the rest of the 3E1'ster who contributed in one way or another. You are all heroes!

Be Yourself Day

Another suggestion, instead of a theme, maybe we can have a common dress code. Example for guys being (you don't have to follow this)
Dark blue tee
Black shirt over the tee
Dark coloured jeans
Black shoes
Shades (if possible)

just realized that it does fit with the dark shaded look that the class voted for. Hahas

Be Yourself Day

(: Maybe we should have a theme for Be Yourself Day to make ourselves stand out yeh?
Some suggestions: we all wear the same colour on that day, for eg. Black.
Ya so, can you guys help to think what we can wear on that day? If any costumes are involved, we'll need to get them by wednesday so it's kinda hard. So.. Any suggestions? (:
